Alazizi Artventureland: Storybook creation for kids

My venture to Alazizi Artventureland was purely accidental, I'd had a scrumptious brunch at their neighbour's, Cafe Deadend and was amused to see a cartoon-looking mailbox outside the store.

Stepping into the store, I saw hand-sketched cartoons brought to life as soft toys and on the covers of many wonderfully drawn storybooks. Where was I and was this a dream?

In fact, I was in Alazizi Artventureland which allows the artist in every child to realise their dream and wildest imagination through storybook creation (that's my favourite, who doesn't want to be an author?), fashion design, art portfolio and even CD album. These programs cater to children from ages 3 to 12.

I had the pleasure of meeting Clarabel Poon – author and creator of Curly Curly and her brother Englebert who were both Junior Master Artists and were in the midst of writing another storybook!

Curly Curly deserves special mention because he won my heart as a magical creature who bestowed wishes to his classmates, to much amusement! I left with 2 signed copies of Curly Curly and I plan to add the soft toy version to my collection soon.

The storybook project lasts around 8 weeks and selected stories are published and produced into postcards, soft toys and tote bags. Those interested for their kiddies to develop their drawing and story creation skills can check it out!
