All brows at Anastasia Beverly Hills
During my latest Bangkok trip, I was able to sneak in a 30-mins Eyebrow Treatment Special at Anastasia Beverly Hills salon, located in Central Embassy. I had read up about their brow expertise some time ago and even bought the Brow Powder Duo – Ash Brown back in March, at the advice of a fantastic make-up consultant at the Anastasia counter in Sephora.
I've always had my eyebrows trimmed by my neighbourhood aesthetician, but I was ready to try something new and the fact that Hong Kong doesn't have an Anastasia salon meant this was the perfect opportunity.
The Central Embassy salon has around 5 treatment rooms, each with a large brown leather chair (similar to the BarcaLounger that Joey and Chandler fondly named, Rosita) that reclines for your technician to perform her magic.
With the backlit mirrors and soft pastel walls, I felt it could have fitted well with the aesthetics of a Disney princess castle. Not that I minded, because who wouldn't want to feel like a princess once in a while?
The BarcaLounger was remarkably comfortable and once my technician covered my lap with a towel, I could have easily dozed off.
EYEBROW TREATMENT SPECIAL
She prepped my brows first by taking off makeup on them (I had some brow gel on).
Next she marked the brow outline so I could confirm the shape of my brows before waxing.
With the wax done (lucky the strokes were quick and precise so it wasn't as painful as I had imagined) I had a clean and refined set of brows.
Here came the 5-mins seaweed mask that provided an instant cooling effect to calm down the brow region after waxing.
The final brow look once filled in with brow pencil, brow powder and brow gel. A look I will try my best to replicate!
The tip is not to overly fill the start of the brow and let it gradually build up towards the arch of the brow with a precise end.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will make a visit the next time I'm in Bangkok. For 30mins at 1,000THB, it was incredible value for the professional service offered by the technician. While I probably won't be visiting in the next 6-8 weeks as Anastasia recommends, I'll try to keep them in shape till then.
